Background history:
Twins are a bad omen, mothers are to abandon them upon birth or risk suffering from their fate...
Born in the fourth generation of House Do'ghym since their being banished from the Underdark, Laeldril and her younger sister (by 7 minutes) Bruhae were twins. Many of the traditions and superstitions of the Drow were abandoned by the House Matriarchs however when it came to twins... they were seen as a curse upon the family lineage. Raised from birth knowing she could never hold rank equal to other women in her family, Laeldril strived to be the absolute best at anything she tried. Killing became her forte from a very early age and fencing an artform.
When Laedril reached maturity she like all members of the house were to take a trail and prove their worth and earn their place in the family. The abuse and servitude of her growing years lead to Laeldril deciding to leave her family on that night and never return. Unknown to her at the time Laedril's younger brother Jyssyr followed her, sensing her decision and not wanting to be parted from her. The two young drow fell into a mercenary band living from job to job for a few years until one night after a spell of not work, the band decided to raid an nearby farm for food. The raid turned bad and Jyssyr lost his life in the melee that ensued.
Laeldril abandoned the band, upon learning of her Grand Uncle's betrayal of her family and the murder and destruction of their holdings that followed. Deciding to cut herself off from other people, hiding the fact she was still alive; she lived alone as a blade for hire until meeting Amelia Leigh the quirky young mage that wouldn't leave good enough alone, befriending Laeldril and introducing her to Istas. In the isolated city high in the northern crags, Laeldril found acceptance, family and to this day strives to prove her worth and be the best she can for her clan.
