Mei lay quietly under the bed her sketch book open on the floor graphite in hand. Beside the Sluagh lay Summer, the young Sidhe also with drawing parchment and thick piece of black wax held tightly in her fingers. The two Fae rarely spoke taking time to show each other what they were working on and communicating in nods and smiles or frowns; developing their own language as they share the shadowed space below Ian's bed. Mei was working on a new design, Alyssia Kanath had asked her to develop a tattoo, something very personal to the Thunderlord, something that would speak volumes to the one person who it was for. Mei spoke at length to Alyssia about symbology, and what would represent the sentiment she was trying to capture. In the end the image that came to Mei's mind was something she hoped would suit the women it was for.
Mei had learned to do body art very young, in the Eyrie of Pormir Felwis where she was training in the arts of stealth and infiltration by Lady Elmier Ambyr Duquette, Phaen's mother. As shadow guardian Mei had a place among the fae, as a body artist she paid her way. With Phaen away in Arcadia, Mei was asked privately to keep an eye on the young Princess and sharing time drawing was the best way to do that. Mei had taken watch over Phaen at the same age. Slowly as Mei drew the maelstrom took shape, a vortex of energy in blues spiraling around the calm center. In the eye of the storm, a dove hovered safe in the calm of the storms passing, holding the storm in place providing some stability to the chaos at the outer edges. Together the storm and the dove were bound by the symbol for infinity it would be drawn in silvers to catch the lightning off the maelstrom and accent the crisp white of the dove.
Mei felt Summer move closer and rest her head on the Sluagh's back, listened as her breathing softened and took a rhythmic pace. Looking over Summer had been drawing tree's and herself swinging from the branches. Like Phaen, her young life could be documented by the drawings she made of her daily activities. Turning back to her own work, in her mind Mei knew she would gild the storm with quicksilver and the dove with opalescent feathers but that would wait for when the work was done. Smiling at her work Mei set the drawing aside, she would send it with Pingers soon as the Princess awoke from her nap. Work on the tattoo would begin once Alyssia approved of the design.
