[Repost - Also thought to have been lost]
Phaen received word on the wind that Elise wished to speak with her; rushing to her washbasin she splashed her face with cool water and smoothed her mothers dress checking for spots and stains. Phaen smiled down at the dress she looked very much like her mother in it. Heading to the great hall, Phaen took time to crush a few herbs from the basked on the bar, a little lemon verbena would freshen the air a bit. Phaen turned and the air shimmered before her as Elise stepped out of her shadow to greet her. Smiling Phaen bid Elise hello and listened as the Sluagh told Phaen her reason for visiting.
Elise had been concerned about Phaen, seeing from the shadows that her normal pattern of dreaming had altered, along with her routine. Often Phaen felt comforted by the knowledge that Elise might be hidden in a shadow watching over her and the Rose. Often while she baked she seemed to sense someone else around. Elise was a treasure among the Fae, and a good friend. Hello Dreamer… Elise had always made Phaen feel unique for being a dreamer. Today Elise came bearing gifts, a special pillow scented with dried herbs, specially made for Phaen. To help you dream, was the phrase that Phaen clung too, could this pillow solver her problem, help her to dream and write again. Elisandra would be happy then if Phaen were writing, she might even come back home.
Phaen hugged Elise, telling her how cherished the pillow would be. After bidding Elise farewell, Phaen ran up to her room and placed the pillow on her bed. It looked perfect, the ivory and leaves against the crimson of the silk quilt, Phaen immediately lied down and hugged the pillow to her and fell asleep, the first sleep in weeks not interrupted by stolen dreams.
