Captain Phaen Grey,
It has been sometime since last we had the opportunity to communicate. In this I am leaving the delivery of this letter to you in the hands of sources still shared among the Fae. Having said that, I hope then that this letter reaches you without difficulty.
Firstly, you will likely wonder why I received, and am using “goblin parchment.” It was a gift sometime ago from one of your kind who indeed, will remain nameless, and while I am not certain that its magicks will hold, I am under the assumption that they will work for any creature using this clandestine way of communication, so long as said creature understands what goblin parchment is.
I will therefore continue under the assumption that you are the only creature capable of reading the words contained in this document.
Your second question is likely regarding my reasons for using this form of communication, and I will validate the concern by presenting outright, that the information could be considered…sensitive, among your kind.
Pleasantries (if they could be called that) aside, I wish to inform you of the death of your mother, Lady Elmier Douquette.
The circumstances of her death were relayed to me by Mei Jin Song, and only as a mediator in the issue with you. Lady Song was bound by a Geas of Fae design to not be able to pass the information onto you directly. I believe Lady Song wished my assistance because I remain a neutral party in Fae oriented matters, and that through your own action Lady Song and I retain a business relationship in other matters.
The details then, should be discussed with Lady Song, now that you and she are able to discuss the issue and the circumstances of the Geas are moot.
Also of possible note to you, Queen DeWinter has returned to the facets of this world. The circumstances of her return are unknown to me at this time to me, and should likely be a topic of discussion with your own remaining contacts among the Fae in Sosaria and Malas. If it is my understanding, Mei has a current oath to you regarding a certain Princess that should likely be re-evaluated. My concern in this latter matter is personal and has a great deal to do with the current business relationship shared between Lady Song and myself.
While I do hope this letter finds you well, given it’s contents and subject matter, I can understand how this likely creates personal issues you will need to address soon with respective parties mentioned herein.
While I do not expect a return reply, as my part in relaying these matters is fulfilled, it is certainly welcome. Until then,
Carpe Noctem.
