Laeldril sat on the floor of her meditation chamber deliberately challenging the shadows with her back to the door; her albino raven Lexx sitting on her toe, ruffling her wings when ever Lael would tap her foot raising and lowering the avian off the floor. The quiet disturbed the Essess of Istas, it allowed for too much time to think of things other than duty. It had been half a year since the renovations to Runescape were complete and still only her office had been returned to its original condition, most other rooms were left in scattered boxes; Laeldril's own bed chamber stood empty other than necessities. Not even a bedroll was laid out on the floor to sleep on.
A storm raged in her mind and it was only her intense training in Nejia was allowing her to keep it from flooding over her mental barriers and spreading to her Retainers. The Gangrel was hungry and not just for the taste of vitae... Laeldril watched over and over in her mind as she slaughtered Kine, tearing at their flesh with her wolves claws, bathing in their blood and lapping it up from their corpses. Her silver white hair slicked back wet and red, it clung to her body. There was a rhythm to her movement, a graceful dance in the darkness out of the reach of prying eyes as she kept this blood lust to her mind, straining to keep it leashed.
Laedril felt him in her mind before he reached her haven, she never kept any of her Retainers from contacting her and Sorrian though almost always gone from Runescape, seemed to know when Laeldril was having a bad night. The Essess knew he watched, but his own demons kept him from the closeness they once shared; his mind too was tortured under their weight. Sorrian's mind brushed her consciousness looking for a crack in the wall, her flesh prickled as he did so, it had been a long time since he'd done so. Feeling him so close Lael growled softly causing Lexx to take flight and settle on a weapon stand in the corner of the chamber. In her mind Sorrian growled back to her, softly arousing.
The Gangrel's eyes flashed open as Sorrian stepped into her haven, crystalline blue diamond eyes peered into the darkness with a sight aided by the burning of her own blood; though blind she would know where ever wall, weapon stand and mount was. Laeldril could track the movement of every shadow and smell where her prey was and where it had been as it moved. Standing she untied her crimson silk robe and hung it on a wooden peg on the wall; the Essess then took her position marked in black on the chamber floor and waited for Sorrian to reach the third floor. Laeldril felt his uncertainty at the front door, he wasn't familiar with the new layout of the building; she could almost feel his boot strike the stone as he began to walk to her carefully disguised teleporter tiles, leading to the upper floor.
After a moment she heard the teleporter signal his arrival, as well as Chase move in the foyer. Chase growled territorially as Sorrian moved to the door to the chamber and Laedril had to comfort her wolf companion, easing his distress. Opening the door Sorrian let the light of the foyer candles pierce the darkness Lael was standing in; it glistened off her black oiled skin as she stood before him her head bowed, her body girded in linen cloth. Unarmed the Drow's hands were held tightly to her sides. Sorrian removed his boots and left them standing outside the threshold of the room, stepping inside he untied his cloak and hung it along with his robe on a similar wood peg in the wall at the door. The light from the foyer cast his shadow along the floor placing his head at her feet. Sorrian's long, lean, muscular body was silhouetted across the floor his long hair tied back at the nape of his neck, he too was girded in linen, no other armor to protect him from what was to come.
There was a soft whisper of air as the door to the meditation chamber slid closed, Sorrian took his place at a second black mark in the floor, his own eyes also augmented with dark sight, by the burning of his blood, blood that was saturated with that of his Regnant.... Laeldril.
Sorrian's voice was warm and rich, it caressed Laeldril's ears like velvet, "ussta ssinssrigg." (my love)
"Dos k'jakr satiir nindel i'dol?" Laeldril whispered. (you still feel that way?)
"Zuch," Sorrian growled with affection. (always)
Laeldril growled back to him in answerence, his voice igniting the embers that had been smoldering in her. The two stepped from their marks, lunging at each other with furious speed, as they began the long dance of finding each others weaknesses. With each thrust and parry the two countered each other for hours through the night, the muscle memory of Laeldril's body forgetting she was dead and forcibly breathing heavy from the physical exertion. It wasn't until Sol began his climb to the horizon that there was any pause in the thinking of both Retainer and his Regnant; Laeldril knew that she could not resist Sol's pull to sleep that soon her body would give out without her permission. The momentary feeling of defeat that washed through her mind caused Sorrian to pause... hesitate and Laeldril struck hard and fast.
The Gangrel kicked the Moonelf's legs out from under him and pinned him to the floor; straddling his hips holding her wolves claws to his throat. Laeldril's ears rang with the pounding of his heart like cymbals crashing right beside her head; she looked down to him soft silver white tendrils of hair circling her face tinted red by the gleam that allowed him to see in the dark. Lael's fangs bared she panted though the breath did nothing for her, in low tones she growled down at him her eyes riveted to his neck, she could see with her own dark sight the pulse of the main artery in his neck, the slight twitch of the skin as his heart pounded in his chest.
Sorrian knew what his Regnant needed and growled to her softly, "what's mine is yours..."
Love for Sorrian flooded through her as she buried her fangs deeply into the curve of his neck and shoulder, his gift to her of his own blood was priceless. Laeldril felt the swell of territorialism for him, a sense of his being her's and no one else's, she was fiercely protective of all her retainers, they were part of her pack and she would give her life for them. Blood tears slipped from her eyes as she fed deeply, it was an intimate gift to receive from any of them, more than sating her hunger it filled her with the understanding they loved her in return.
As Sol crept up over the horizon, Laeldril licked closed the wounds she'd made and curled up on Sorrian's chest, her body growing heavy with the forced sleep dawn always brought. Wrapping his arms around her Sorrian stroked her hair softly as he felt her body grow still and she drifted off to sleep safely with him; he'd stay with her till she woke at dusk and they would renew their bond by his feeding from her Kindred vitae. The cycle would be complete for another moon or until he felt her need to release her blood lust again. In his way he protected his Regnant from herself and a public who would hunt her down for what she was, if they ever learned her true nature. Sorrian's love for Laeldril was supernatural, and unbreakable no matter how far apart they roamed.
